wagamama / Meantime — Packaging

wagamama approached us to create a series of beer labels for their collaboration with Meantime Brewing Company, introducing a new range of pale ales to complement their food offering. The challenge was to develop a visual identity that clearly communicated the flavour profile of each beer, while balancing the distinct personalities of both brands in a true 50/50 collaboration.

The Solution

We created a bold, illustrative label system that brought each pale ale to life through expressive colour, texture and flavour-led artwork. Kansho used fresh lime and ginger cues to suggest a bright, zesty finish; Kikku embraced fiery reds and energetic marks to reflect its shichimi kick; while Natsu introduced vibrant passionfruit tones for a fruitier, more tropical feel. The labels combined wagamama’s expressive, contemporary food culture with Meantime’s craft beer heritage, creating a range that felt distinctive, ownable and full of character.

The Result

The final designs gave the collaboration a strong shelf and table presence, helping wagamama expand its drinks range with a product that felt both credible and exciting. The labels worked as a cohesive family while giving each flavour its own personality, creating a memorable visual bridge between food, flavour and craft brewing.

From the client — Helen Hyland / wagamama

“The team at enBrand worked with us to design the labels for our three new craft beers, Kikku, Kansho and Natsu. It was an exciting project for us, and having never had own branded beers before, the brief was fairly open. As the beers are in collaboration with Meantime Brewing Company, there were two sets of brand guidelines to understand and adhere to, and both were done with such ease. Working to an incredibly tight deadline, we were impressed with how quickly options were presented to us and how our feedback was taken on board and turned around with such speed into something beautiful. A perfect balance of two brands and a great identity to reflect the beers themselves. Thank you.”
